In the Name of Allah---the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. A massive wildfire erupted in the suburbs of  Los Angeles on January 8, 2025 , causing widespread devastation and forcing residents, including many Hollywood celebrities, to flee their homes in panic. The fire consumed approximately 3,000 acres (1,200 hectares) in the affluent Pacific Palisades area, nestled within the Santa Monica Mountains. Fueled by hurricane-force winds, the blaze grew rapidly and left an  apocalyptic  scene of charred trees and abandoned homes. In the Name of Allah---the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. Makkah means the gathering place of pilgrims. We all know the spiritual importance of Makkah as the Holiest City of Islam and the most sacred place on the earth. However, very few people pay heed to the    scientific  study of this Holy Land. This article delves into the geological study of Makkah al-Mukarramh and the surrounding areas. The  valley of Makkah  lies within the greater geological structure known as the   Arabian Shield , a vast region of ancient, crystalline rocks that form the foundation of much of western Arabia. This shield is one of the most prominent geological features of the Arabian Peninsula, extending from the Red Sea coast to the interior regions of Saudi Arabia and into neighboring countries such as Yemen, Jordan, and Egypt.
