Los Angeles on fire

In the Name of Allah---the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. A massive wildfire erupted in the suburbs of  Los Angeles on January 8, 2025 , causing widespread devastation and forcing residents, including many Hollywood celebrities, to flee their homes in panic. The fire consumed approximately 3,000 acres (1,200 hectares) in the affluent Pacific Palisades area, nestled within the Santa Monica Mountains. Fueled by hurricane-force winds, the blaze grew rapidly and left an  apocalyptic  scene of charred trees and abandoned homes. However, this paper explores the lesser-discussed environmental impact of AI, particularly its contribution to climate change. Through a multidisciplinary lens, this research examines how increased computational demands, energy consumption, and hardware production associated with AI exacerbate global greenhouse gas emissions.
